Building Inclusivity in Ward 3: What’s In the Affordable Housing Toolbox?
April 27, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Join us on April 27th at 7:30 pm when we will learn about the many tools we have to make Ward 3 a more inclusive, affordable place to live. Experts and practitioners will inform us about approaches and policies like federal and local subsidies, public land, missing middle housing, ADUs, public/social housing, and mixed income housing with inclusionary zoning. We’ll also learn about how affordable housing actually gets financed.
We will be joined by Ward 3 Councilmember Mary Cheh, who supports the Comprehensive Plan, which provides some of the tools to bring more affordable housing to amenity-rich areas of DC like Ward 3.
As we learned from our program last fall, “Help Take Down the Invisible Walls Around Ward 3,” Ward 3 has an ugly history of racist segregation and exclusionary zoning policies. If we want to make our community truly inclusive, we need to use every tool available to provide housing which is affordable to residents at every income level.
Register today to learn more about what is happening in Ward 3 and how you can help bring about positive change!
